Bachelor of Commerce in Health Informatics

Undergraduate programmeModules listed for 8 semesters

Health informatics is an evolving discipline that plays a vital role in modern healthcare by leveraging data, technology, and information systems to improve the quality and efficiency of care. As healthcare becomes more digitalised, professionals in this field are essential for managing health information, developing digital health solutions, and supporting data-driven decision-making across clinical, administrative, and research settings. Health informatics professionals combine knowledge from healthcare, computer science, and data analytics to design, implement, and optimise systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and clinical decision support tools. Their work ensures accurate, secure, and timely access to health data—enabling better patient outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing public health surveillance and policy development.
